New Voices in Keene

New Hampshire Poet Laureate Alice Fogel and Wilton poet, Patrice Pinette read with new immigrant writers Vidhya Planimuthu and Kalaivani Rajendra at the Keene Public Library on April 15, 2019. The four poets read with music by Sarah Merrigan playing the Celtic harp. The "new voices" are students in Julie Moulton’s ESL class at Keene Community Education.

Selected works of mentor writers

Alice B Fogel is the New Hampshire poet laureate. Recent books include A Doubtful House and Interval: Poems Based on Bach's Goldberg Variations, which won the N. Schaffner Award for Music in Literature and the NH Literary Award in Poetry. She's also the author of Strange Terrain, a guide to appreciating poetry without necessarily "getting" it.”

Patrice Pinette's work is included in the anthologies Images from Ruin, New Hampshire Poetry Society and Mischief, Caprice and Other Poetic Strategies, Red Hen Press. She is also the author of the chapbook, Blue is a Being.
